Wardrobes and almirahs are bulky, heavy and easy to damage if handled wrong. Here's the right approach.
Empty and sort contents first
Remove everything from the wardrobe and pack clothes separately in cartons or wardrobe boxes. Never move a wardrobe with clothes or items still inside — the extra weight stresses hinges and shelves.
Dismantle where possible
Wooden wardrobes with removable panels or modular units should be dismantled for the move. Keep all screws and small fittings in a labelled bag taped to the largest panel so nothing gets lost.
Protect mirrors and glass panels
Any mirrored or glass wardrobe doors should be wrapped separately with bubble wrap and corrugated sheets, with corners specifically protected, and marked "fragile" clearly.
Steel almirahs
Steel almirahs don't need dismantling but should be emptied and have their doors secured shut (rope or tape) so they don't swing open during transport. Furniture blankets prevent scratches during loading.
Let trained hands do the heavy lifting
Wardrobes and almirahs are awkward to carry through doorways and staircases. Our trained crew handles dismantling, wrapping and reassembly as part of a full-service move.
