Plants are living things, so they need different handling from furniture and boxes. With a little prep, your indoor garden can make the move happily.
Prepare a week ahead
- Trim dead leaves and check for pests.
- Move plants from heavy ceramic pots to lighter plastic ones for transit if needed.
- Water a day or two before - not on moving day, to avoid spills and root rot.
Pack pots securely
Place pots in open boxes, wrap the base to stop soil spilling, and cushion between pots with crushed paper so they don't knock together.
Transport with care
Plants do best upright and with some air. For short moves, carry delicate plants in your own car if possible. Avoid leaving them in a closed hot vehicle for long.
Settle them in
At the new home, unpack plants first, place them in similar light conditions, and water once they have settled.
Note: some movers limit liability for living plants, so confirm during your survey. Call Laxmi Packers and Movers on 98456 83236 for advice.
