Washing machines are heavy and hold water, so a little preparation prevents leaks, drum damage and back strain on moving day.
Drain it fully
- Run a short empty cycle or use the drain hose to remove all water a day before the move.
- Disconnect the inlet and drain hoses and let them dry.
- Wipe the detergent drawer and drum dry.
Protect the drum
In front-load machines, the drum can swing and damage internal parts. If you kept the original transit bolts, refit them; otherwise our crew secures the drum before transport.
Lift and load safely
Always keep the machine upright, wrap it in moving blankets and use a trolley. Lifting a washing machine by hand without support risks injury and dents.
At the new home
Let it settle, reconnect the hoses carefully, check for leaks and run a short empty cycle before the first full wash.
